the grand strand airport, located in north myrtle beach area, single-terminal airport (cre), serving banner planes , small aircraft.

the grand strand served waccamaw coastline railroad rail line runs largely parallel u.s. route 501 between conway , downtown myrtle beach. line owned horry county, leased in 2000 carolina southern railroad.


carolina southern railroad short line rail operator running on less 100 miles (160 km) of rail @ maximum speed of 10 mph (16 km/h). transports freight brought national rail operators. company makes 1 scheduled delivery per month city of myrtle beach.

within last decade, new roads have been created ease congestion caused yearly influx of visitors. of these roads follow metro loop road plan, organized in 1997 improve traffic flow of myrtle beach. of roads included have either been funded through ride funding or through city of myrtle beach.


ride ii plans include third phase of s.c. highway 31, graded separation of farrow parkway , 17 bypass @ gate of former air force base, , many other projects. county debating allocate $400 million generated through proposed 1-cent sales tax. other road projects in horry county, including in aynor , conway, included when voted upon.


plans exist grand strand area served 2 interstates, interstate 73 , interstate 74. robert edge parkway connect i-74 downtown north myrtle beach.
