Future biosphere extinction Extinction event

the eventual warming , expanding of sun, combined eventual decline of atmospheric carbon dioxide cause greater mass extinction, having potential wipe out microbes, rising global temperatures caused expanding sun gradually increase rate of weathering, in turn removes more , more carbon dioxide atmosphere. when carbon dioxide levels low (perhaps @ 50 ppm), plant life die out, although simpler plants grasses , mosses can survive longer, until co2 levels drop 10 ppm.

with photosynthetic organisms gone, atmospheric oxygen can no longer replenished, , removed chemical reactions in atmosphere, perhaps volcanic eruptions. loss of oxygen cause remaining aerobic life die out via asphyxiation, leaving behind simple anaerobic prokaryotes. when sun becomes 10% brighter in billion years, earth suffer moist greenhouse effect resulting in oceans boiling away, while earth s liquid outer core cools due inner core s expansion , causes earth s magnetic field shut down. in absence of magnetic field, charged particles sun deplete atmosphere , further increase earth s temperature average of ~420 k (147 °c, 296 °f) in 2.8 billion years, causing last remaining life on earth die out. extreme instance of climate-caused extinction event. since happen late in sun s life, such cause final mass extinction in earth s history (albeit long extinction event).
