the cray house
the cray house, located on cockey lane, complete example of post-and-plank construction known exist. john denny purchased lot j. stevens in 1809. denny, ship carpenter, used construction method in walls formed tenoning horizontal planks slots cut vertical corner posts. after series of owners, sold @ auction in 1914 nora cray, widow lived there 3 children. nora cray s heirs deeded property kent island heritage society in 1976, , house restored in 2004. predates town of stevensville, , listed individually on national register of historic places.
christ church (1880)
the 1880 building of christ episcopal church of kent island, located on east main street, fifth church of christ church parish founded in 1631, oldest continuous episcopal congregation in united states. previous church buildings in nearby broad creek, 1 of first towns established in maryland. church excellent example of queen anne style of ecclesiastical architecture, , building listed individually on national register of historic places. owned county, , of 2008, houses lutheran parish , in process of being restored.
stevensville bank
the stevensville bank constructed between 1903 , 1907. opened business in 1909, , predecessor bank of america s tidewater branch in stevensville. bank s original building located in historic district on love point road , listed individually on national register of historic places. building has classical architectural details, pressed tin ceiling, intact period furnishings , vault. since bank s business moved locations in 1960s, building has been occupied business offices , merchants. kent island heritage society current lessee of property.

the old stevensville post office located @ 408 love point road. date of construction building not known, building appear on 1877 map of stevensville. post office visited franklin d. roosevelt during visit stevensville. kent island heritage society acquired property in 1997.
stevensville train depot
the stevensville train depot appears today
approval given in 1894 maryland legislature queen anne s railroad company build railroad connecting queenstown lewes, delaware. line extended 13 miles love point in 1902, , stevensville train depot constructed. when maryland s bay bridge constructed in 1952, railroad line fell disuse. deteriorated building donated kent island heritage society several years later. structure restored , moved current location on cockey lane in 1988.

the historic cockey house
the cockey house, built ca. 1870, owned charles b. downes. 1877 map identifies parsonage first methodist protestant church, rented until new parsonage built next church. [see site 20.] miss mary cockey, elementary school teacher, , father, james cockey, assistant postmaster in stevensville, bought house in 1900s. used local library many years, had addition built on west side, , enlarged front porch. house being restored historic splendor current owners.
