elle ragu (エレ・ラグ, ere ragu) 59th sevaar of kuruda , 1 of 4 divas. though not female sevaar in history – title equivalent high warrior , ordinary warrior known vaar – hold distinction of being youngest female ever awarded title of sevaar, @ age 14, 3 years prior start of series. fighting nickname shadow skill name of martial arts style.

gau ban (ガウ・バン, gau ban), known black howling, vaar of kuruda , elle ragu s adopted brother.

his origins differ between oav , anime. in anime, gau ten when attack occurs. seeing parents murdered in front of him, gau snaps , attacks bandits. kills of them, luck runs out. elle shows before himself killed, , finishes off remaining bandits. in oav, bandits attacked home village when 9 years old, slaughtering everyone, including gau s parents. on next year, gau exercised guerrilla-style attacks against bandits revenge. encounters elle on road chance.

since gau survivor of village, elle takes him her. originally, gau intended follow elle in order steal money , discover source of powers. however, after time, gau came care elle older sister. on years, gau has trained side side elle in effort become strong. dedication , signs of promise, catches attention of 57th sevaar, scarface, decides gau improve, albeit indirectly. many incidents gau encounters in way or engineered scarface, purpose of driving him improve , become stronger.

fia arcana, known folli (フォウリィー, fuo urii) , later takes title faurink maya plasmatizer (フォウリンクマイヤー・ブラズマタイザ, burazumataiza fourinkumaiya), daughter of famed sui rem, sorcerer uses magical talismans in battle, master of shadow skills. 1 of laws of sui rem states when 1 s master slain, disciple(s) must cast off name until master has been avenged. because of this, fia changed name faurink maya ( folli short), later gaining nickname plasmatizer .

when first met elle, fia resented , looked @ rival. however, when news came elle had killed father in battle, sense of rivalry turned rage.

eventually, managed hunt down elle , confront her. during battle faury attempted kill elle using nothingness talisman, forbidden spell known arcana family, mine collapsing result of fight precluded this, trapping faury under debris not escape. surprisingly, elle rescued , carried out of mine. faury, beginning have doubts elle s guilt, decided accompany , see kind of person elle was.

in following years, faury became friends elle , act older sister figure. looked @ elle child of light, loved gods, while herself child of darkness envied light. looked out elle conscience.

kyuo lyu (キュオ・リュー, kyuo liu) former member of septia troupe phantom, group of trained hunters tracked down demon-beasts, capturing , taming them use in society. grandfather, jin stolla, leader of phantom , considered 1 of greatest septias ever. when phantom decided go after legendary demon beast, king of moon, had no idea against. king of moon, powers of strength , regeneration unstoppable while under moonlight, destroyed entire village. phantom unit tried stop beast wiped out in 1 night. in morning, kyuo found corpses of teammates , buried them.

kyuo returned kuruda , tried hire group of thugs hunt down king of moon, had other things in mind (a young defenseless girl alone in bar, idea). luckily, elle , gau overheard conversation table, , gau jumped right in defend kyuo. when thugs found out 59th sevaar on kyuo s side, ran hills. kyuo paid elle help, unfortunately went cover elle s debts. kyuo offered them more money if willing her, elle hesitant @ first because thought kyuo wanted capture demon-beast. startled everyone, therefore, when kyuo admitted wanted dead, not captured – desire counter purpose septias played in society. upon that, elle agreed.

during hunt, kyuo showed remarkable talent setting traps, handling series of chakram-like rings called chulinks. these rings integral part of septia s abilities , duties, serving focal points activate , control traps. in combat chulinks used weapons; attaching cord it, chulink used both throwing weapon in way similar whip.

that night, king of moon appeared , fierce battle ensued. elle , gau s attacks devastating, far splitting demon-beast in half, fight occurring beneath full moon, demon-beast able heal debilitating wounds occurred, regenerate severed limbs. kyuo s efforts in end saved them, traps pinning demon-beast in place until sun rose, , king of moon s powers waned point be, , was, killed. revenge complete, kyuo had left go, elle invited join group. has been them ever since.
