the fastest 8 cyclists on each stage received prize between 50 francs , 1,500 francs, varying per stage. fourteen best cyclists in general classification received prize 3,000 francs winner 25 francs fourteenth place. remaining 7 cyclists finish in general classification each received 95 francs, 5 francs each of 19 days race took, provided had not won more 200 francs in prize money , did not have average speed below 20 km/h (12 mph) on stage.
