at attraction s entrance, guests enter institute of nautical exploration , marine observation (nemo). 3 seagulls, perched on nearby buoy, cry out mine! mine! mine! every few moments. guests board 1 of nemo s 8 yellow research submarines , set out in search of active underwater volcano. through portholes, guests view colorful underwater environment. 1 of first things guests see darla, fish-killing niece of dentist in finding nemo, freediving amid coral, holding plastic bag fish has captured.


as journey continues, guests see giant sea bass swimming through seaweed forest. submarines enter ruins of ancient civilization, being explored dentist scuba diver p. sherman. among ruins lies gigantic tiki head, embedded in ocean floor. subs enter coral reef many bright reflective colors. giant clams open , close submarines pass. captain commands sub dive deeper avoid surface storm ahead.


at point submarine travels through waterfall , enters hidden ride building, guests find apparently moving through underwater caverns. captain announces that, due advancements in marine technology, can use sonar hydrophones (an homage original attraction), hear fish talk. sub passes through dark cavern huge eels lunge toward submarine, , lobsters can seen well. sub passes marlin, clownfish, , dory, regal blue tang, discover nemo has gotten lost again. farther along reef, guests encounter mr. ray , class swimming through coral looking nemo well. first mate announces sub approaching east australian current, , submarine enters current along nemo, squirt, crush , other green sea turtles.


the sub exits current , enters graveyard of sunken ships, jacques, cleaner shrimp can seen nearby while marlin , dory continue search nemo. bruce, great white shark, , chum, mako shark, swim inside sunken submarine surrounded world war ii mines. (anchor, hammerhead shark not included in ride.) submarine hits mine, causing mine explode, resulting in sub shaking , temporarily losing power. sub goes dark, marlin , dory surrounded small glowing lights, turn out phosphorescent lights on several huge deep-sea anglerfish. after marlin , dory escape creatures, make way through forest of jellyfish.


the submarine reaches active deep-sea volcano. gill, moorish idol, bloat, pufferfish, gurgle, royal gramma, bubbles, yellow tang , squirt chant lava flows down volcano s sides, while marlin , dory reunite nemo. (deb, 4 stripe damselfish not included in ride.) volcano erupts sub escapes , returns reef. fish gather around , celebrate finding nemo once again. suddenly, pod of humpback whales appears, , 1 of them swallows both dory , submarine. dory swims trying understand whale s vocalizations. after few moments, whale shoots submarine , dory out through blowhole. dory mistakes sub big yellow whale , speaks whale; saying goodbye.


the captain tells first mate not enter has happened in ship s log because nobody believe anyway. says, d better take before have run-in sea serpent or encounter mermaid (references original attraction, included mermaids , sea serpent). 2 rock formations can seen, 1 shaped sea serpent s head, , other shaped mermaid. sub surfaces , reenters harbor, pair of king crabs snap @ air bubbles coming sewage pipe. instrumental version of beyond sea plays submarine docks , captain passengers riding.
