Niraval Carnatic music



niraval, performed more advanced performers, consists of singing 1 or 2 lines of text of song repeatedly, series of melodic improvised elaborations. although niraval consists of extempore melodic variations, generally, original patterns of duration maintained; each word in lines of text stay set within original place (idam) in tala cycle. lines played @ different levels of speed can include double speed, triple speed, quadruple speed , sextuple speed. improvised elaborations made view of outlining raga, tempo, , theme of composition.
