since retirement politics, gordon continues serve chair of netcentral, not-for-profit community based network operating in northern ontario. served chair of parkside older adult centre 2010 2011, , member of board 2007 2011. in 2005, served honorary co-chair of sudbury samaritan centre, facility designed residents in need including homeless, services include soup kitchen, drop-in mission, health centre , support program people re-establish in community. member of board of northern artists gallery/artists on elgin, gallery exhibits , sells work northern artists , helps market local art industry surrounding community. served member of executive committee of northern ontario school of medicine 2003 2011.

gordon has chaired various committees in tenure corporation. chaired health cluster development expert panel , led committee through exploration of several initiatives including health impact of poverty, , centre of excellence in occupational health , safety.


alternative level of care (alc) crisis

gordon appointed chair , led investigation of alc bed crisis @ sudbury regional hospital. consulted many groups including sudbury physician s task force, north east community care access centre, sudbury regional hospital , north east lhin.


from these consultations, gordon recommended 47 short-term , long-term measures address bed crisis. based on report, city council called on ontario government adopt several measures address alc crisis. city council ratified gordon s recommendation house alc patients @ site.


regional data storage project

gordon chairs regional data storage project , has been in role since april 2011. primary objective of project develop regional data centre position greater sudbury benefit economic potential of growing needs secure data storage services.
