on october 30, 1954, connection between ind brooklyn line , bmt culver line opened, , culver line transferred bmt ind control. service through new connection commenced, , bmt culver shuttle instituted between ditmas avenue , ninth avenue, making ditmas avenue inter-division transfer station. when bmt culver shuttle ceased on may 11, 1975, station left served ind culver line only.



on march 5, 1944, when elevated bmt myrtle avenue line removed brooklyn bridge elevated tracks, , cut park row bridge–jay streets, paper transfer added @ bridge–jay streets brooklyn bridge trolley lines, smith street line, dekalb avenue line, , seventh avenue line. bridge trolleys discontinued on march 6, 1950, , transfer replaced 1 ind sixth avenue line. manhattan-bound passengers received transfer when boarding myrtle avenue line west of broadway, brooklyn-bound passengers 1 when entering @ broadway – nassau street, near park row. in addition, similar trolley transfers provided @ high street – brooklyn bridge, @ brooklyn end of bridge. myrtle avenue line west of broadway closed on october 3, 1969, , transfer replaced 1 b54 bus route, ran under line. transfers @ high street – brooklyn bridge discontinued @ point, b54 transfer remained long time.



when broadway elevated spur broadway ferry closed passengers on july 2, 1916, paper transfer added broadway ferry shuttle streetcar line. shuttle moved broadway ferry lorimer street when bmt canarsie line opened through williamsburg on june 30, 1924, , broadway line streetcars rerouted ferry. later transfer meeker avenue line, part of b24 bus route.

a paper transfer added @ rockaway avenue between temporary east end of underground ind fulton street line , new west end of elevated bmt fulton street line, after bmt fulton street line closed west of rockaway avenue on june 1, 1940. when bmt fulton street line closed east of rockaway avenue on april 27, 1956, these transfers discontinued.



the lower level, serving jamaica line, opened in 1888. station became transfer station when myrtle avenue elevated platform on upper level opened in 1889. when myrtle avenue line service west of station ended in 1969, upper level abandoned , myrtle avenue line trains east merged onto jamaica line tracks.

it planned convert overpass running between junius street , livonia avenue stations free-transfer passage between them, due increasing ridership , plans additional housing in area. money allocated in 2015–2019 capital program build transfer. both stations upgraded become compliant mobility accessibility guidelines under americans disabilities act of 1990.
