the band s album paradise lost, concept album loosely inspired john milton s epic poem of same name, recorded in romeo s studio throughout 2006, delayed numerous times , released worldwide on june 26, 2007. band claimed work had darker themes musically. album included special dvd of footage shot band throughout history, available in fye stores. release coincided 14-month world tour, including tour through of europe dream theater in fall of 2007. band revealed plans perform in japan , other asian countries, appear first time ever in russia, india, , middle east.


paradise lost debuted @ number 123 on billboard 200 album chart in united states, selling 6,300 copies in first week. record debuted @ number 1 on top heatseekers chart.


symphony x released first music video song serpent s kiss on july 28, 2007. followed video set world on fire, released on january 11, 2008. band toured north , south america october november 2008, , toured asia in february 2009.
