according united states census bureau, town has total area of 15.7 square miles (40.6 km), of 15.3 square miles (39.7 km) land , 0.35 square miles (0.9 km), or 2.25%, water. town ranks 238th of 351 communities in commonwealth in terms of land area, , ranks nineteenth out of twenty-seven towns in plymouth county. west bridgewater bordered brockton north, east bridgewater east, bridgewater south, , easton west, small section (less quarter of mile long) of southwestern corner borders town of raynham. west bridgewater s town center approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) south of center of brockton, , 25 miles (40 km) south of boston.


west bridgewater lies along northeast edge of hockomock swamp, large section of southwestern corner of town being covered swamp , wildlife management area. there several other protected areas throughout town, several parks , large pond surrounded state forest. town river passes through southern portion of town, branching off several brooks throughout town, salisbury river in northeast corner of town.
