biography
early life

cherubini born on 27 september 1966 in rome tuscan parents, mario , viola cardinali, spent part of childhood in parents hometown, cortona, in province of arezzo (tuscany).


after completing high-school studies, started working disc jockey in several discothèques , radio stations in province of rome. in 1985 moved milan. 2 years later, during summer of 1987, while playing dj set in palinuro, met record producer , talent scout claudio cecchetto, proposed begin working together. same year jovanotti released first single, walking, , started working dj 1 of prominent national radio stations, radio deejay, founded cecchetto 5 years earlier.


career breakthrough: 1980s , 1990s

his first studio album, jovanotti president, released in 1988 , became symbol of italian youth of eighties, without interest in ideologies , politics. despite receiving negative criticism, album became big commercial success, reaching third position on italian musica e dischi albums chart , selling on 400,000 copies in italy. moreover, album spawned 5 singles, including number-one hits, gimme 5 , gimme 5 (rasta five) , songs go jovanotti go , mix, remix & singers, entered italian top 5.


in 1998, jovanotti played brief role in movie giardini dell eden, directed alessandro d alatri.

2000s

his 2005 cd, buon sangue, influenced both rock , old school hip hop. 1 of innovative works date. edoardo bennato collaborated on 1 track, while bass player saturnino co-wrote 2 of songs.


in 2007 featured @ end of negramaro s song, cade la pioggia, of cd, la finestra, , in 2008 released new album safari.


in 2008 performed guest artist on track lugar comum album encanto. @ end of 2009, collaborated claudio baglioni , fabrizio bosso, along 70 other artists, in song con tutto il mio cuore (with heart). on 1 january 2010 group released baciami ancora (kiss me again) soundtrack of film gabriele muccino.


2010s

in december 2010 achieved number 1 hit on italian top 20 charts tutto l amore che ho. on january 25, 2011, released eighteenth album ora. later in 2011 played @ bonnaroo music festival.
