following carl wilson s death in 1998, jardine left touring version of beach boys, leaving love original member in group playing live concerts. jardine continued tour , recorded endless summer band, in line-up comprised several musicians toured beach boys, including billy hinsche of dino, desi , billy; ed carter; bobby figueroa; , jardine s sons, matt , adam. in 2001, jardine s band released live in las vegas. in late 2006, jardine joined brian wilson s band short tour celebrating 40th anniversary of pet sounds.


in march 2008, jardine settled lawsuit brought against him love , estate of carl wilson regarding use of beach boys name. love had leased beach boys name, , deemed jardine s newly formed band, called beach boys family & friends (featuring sons matt , adam jardine, carnie , wendy wilson, daryl dragon, billy hinsche , others), breach of title use.


in 2009, jardine s lead vocal on big sur christmas released on mp3 download, produced longtime red barn studios engineer stevie heger under heger s band s name, hey stevie. track released on hey stevie album, eloquence.


jardine released postcard california, solo debut, in june 2010 (re-released 2 tracks on april 3, 2012). album features contributions beach boys brian wilson, carl wilson (a posthumous track), bruce johnston, david marks , mike love. there guest appearances glen campbell, neil young, steve miller, scott mathews, gerry beckley , dewey bunnell (members of america) , flea. spoken intermission written stephen kalinich, called tidepool interlude , features actor alec baldwin.


jardine made first appearance beach boys in more 10 years in 2011 @ tribute concert ronald reagan s 100th birthday, sang me, rhonda , sloop john b .


in december 2011, announced brian wilson, mike love, al jardine, bruce johnston , david marks reunite new beach boys album , beach boys 50th anniversary reunion tour in 2012.


in september 2012, announced jardine, wilson , marks no longer tour band. love returned lineup pre-anniversary tour configuration, love original member (bruce johnston joined in 1965). result, announced jardine appear marks , wilson, along wilson s band, short summer tour in 2013, featuring three.


continuing in collaboration wilson, jardine , marks contributed wilson s solo album, no pier pressure, released in april 2015. jardine contributed wilson s pet sounds 50th anniversary world tour. in july 2016, jardine appeared in episode of adult swim series decker: unclassified, playing role of president s science advisor .
