brocolini rejoined d oyly carte , e. e. rice in tour of billee taylor in april 1881, playing christopher crab. tour continued summer of 1881, later under auspices of rice-goodwin lyric comedy company. in non-d oyly carte companies, brocolini played in pinafore , patience @ haverley s theatre, brooklyn, in february 1882, , toured pirate king, christopher crab, , captain corcoran boston comic opera company. @ fifth avenue theatre in october 1882, again played christopher crab in billee taylor. late 1882 spring of 1883, appeared collier s standard opera company in role of strephon in iolanthe, first work produced @ boston bijou theatre. collier s @ bijou, next appeared in pounce & co., , in sorcerer, sir marmaduke pointdextre.


in 1884, brocolini played king hildebrand in new york s first production of princess ida, @ fifth avenue theatre, produced e. e. rice. next traveled australia, appeared williamson, garner , musgrove royal comic opera company beginning in april 1885 in melbourne la petite mademoiselle charles lecocq. reprised role of strephon in iolanthe in melbourne , sydney until june 1885. in october 1885 appeared in stradella @ bijou theatre in boston.


he returned america tour pooh-bah in mikado november 1885 through may 1886. in late 1886, @ fifth avenue theatre, reprised roles of pooh bah , king hildebrand. in 1887, toured in new england, producer john stetson, playing roles of colonel calverley in patience, king hildebrand in princess ida, , sir despard murgatroyd in ruddigore. formed own company produce pirates in boston in summer of 1887. time, brocolini had begun suffer acute rheumatism, forced him reduce performing schedule on next few years.
