ottoman era

in 1517, village included in ottoman empire rest of palestine, , appeared in 1596 tax-records till, located in nahiya of jabal qubal of liwa of nablus. population 46 households, muslim. paid fixed tax rate of 33,3% on agricultural products, such wheat, barley, summer crops, olive trees, goats , beehives, in addition occasional revenues, press olive oil or grape syrup, , fixed tax people of nablus area; total of 5,100 akçe.


in 1838, till located in district of jurat amra, south of nablus.


in 1863, victor guérin found have population of 1 thousand inhabitants. divided several districts, each administered different sheikh. further noted: houses large , built. around village grow, in pens, beautiful plantations of fig , pomegranate trees.


in 1882, palestine exploration fund s survey of western palestine described till as: village of moderate size on low ground, high mound behind on south ; has , few trees, , on west pool in winter ; hills north bare , white, terraced top.


british mandate era

in 1922 census of palestine conducted british mandate authorities, tel had population of 567 muslims, increasing in 1931 census 803 muslims, in 209 houses.


in 1945 population 1,060 muslims, while total land area 13,766 dunams, according official land , population survey. of this, 1,056 dunams plantations , irrigable land, 7,023 cereals, while 55 dunams classified built-up areas.


jordanian era

in wake of 1948 arab–israeli war, , after 1949 armistice agreements, tell came under jordanian rule.


1967, aftermath

after six-day war in 1967, tell has been under israeli occupation along rest of palestinian territories.
